S.R. 2 to close for roadway patching

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announce the closure of State Road 2 west of Lowell.

Crews will be patching the area underneath the railroad underpass. Work is scheduled to start on or after October 10 and is expected to last until the end of the week. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.

During construction, drivers are encouraged to use the posted detour of U.S. 41, U.S. 231 and State Road 55, or seek an alternate route.

INDOT encourages drivers to consider worker safety by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction free when travelling in and around all work zones.
