HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation contractor HIS Constructors Inc. plans to close 236th St. over U.S. 31 on or after Monday, August 29, through mid-November for bridge work. This bridge is located 2.50 miles North of S.R. 38.

This is a new interchange project and this closure will allow crews to finish the 236th St. bridge over U.S. 31 along with the on/off-ramps. The official detour will be:

  • 236th St. WB will turn North on Cal Carson Rd. to 256th St. to U.S. 31 to S.R. 38 back to 236th St.
  • 236th St. EB will turn on S.R. 38 to U.S. 31 to 256th St. to Cal Carson Rd. back to 236th St.

This $20 million contract was awarded to HIS Constructors Inc. in August 2021. INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and be aware of workers and equipment when traveling through active work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
