S.R. 44 closures planned Tuesday for culvert replacements

MORGAN COUNTY, Ind.— Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews plan to close S.R. 44 in two locations on Tuesday, July 12, for culvert replacement work.

State Road 44 will close at each location separately, the first between Hess Road and Centennial Road, east of I-69 in Martinsville. The second closure will take place near the Morgan/Johnson County line, between Peavine Road and C.R. 775 W. Local access will be maintained; thru traffic should use an alternate route.

All work is expected to be complete between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Closures will be shifted to later in the week if needed due to inclement weather. 

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, avoid distractions, and consider worker safety when traveling through active work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
