S.R. 26 in Hartford City to close for construction work

BLACKFORD COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of S.R. 26 in Hartford City between Cherry Street and High Street.

Crews will be doing major construction work on S.R. 26 starting on or after August 23. The work is expected to last until the end of September.

Because of work happening on S.R. 3, the intersection of S.R. 3 and S.R. 26 will also be closed during this time.

During construction, drivers should use the posted detour of S.R. 26, S.R. 22, S.R. 5, S.R. 18 and S.R. 1, or seek an alternate route.

INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction free when driving in and around all work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
