INDOT to Close Two Bridges Over I-465 for Overlay Project

MARION COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation will close two bridges over I-465 for a new deck overlays. 

96th Street over I-465 will be closed on Tuesday, July 6. It is scheduled to remain closed until Friday, July 9. 

During the closure, the public can take the signed detour. It is Ditch Road to 106th Street to Springmill Road and back to 96th Street. 

The second bridge to close is Westfield Boulevard over I-465. The bridge is scheduled to close on Wednesday, July 7 and will remain closed through Sunday, July 11.

During the closure, the public is asked to take the signed detour. For traffic coming from the north, take 96th Street to Keystone Ave. to 86th Street back to Westfield Blvd. For traffic coming from the south, take Westfield Blvd to 86th Street to Keystone Ave. to 96th Street back to Westfield Blvd.

In 2019, Indiana Criminal Justice Institute reported that distracted driving from mobile devices was a factor in at least 1,263 crashes and three fatal crashes.
