Northbound traffic to switch Thursday night on I-65 in Jackson County
JACKSON COUNTY, Ind.— Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. plans to switch traffic on northbound I-65 Thursday evening (May 21, weather permitting) as progress continues on the $143 million reconstruction and added travel lanes project between Seymour and Columbus.
The switch will shift northbound traffic to the southbound side of I-65 from MM 53.6 to MM 56, north of Seymour. This will put both northbound and southbound traffic on the southbound side between Seymour and just north of S.R. 11. Northbound access to S.R. 11 at Exit 55 will be maintained, but lanes will be shifted while new pavement is constructed.
Motorists are urged to slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through the entire work zone. Drivers should adhere to the 55 mph speed restriction and trucks should continue to use the left lane for travel. The project began in 2018 and is expected to be complete in late summer 2020. All work is weather dependent.
