Lane closures scheduled for U.S. 39 and U.S. 35 in LaPorte
LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces lane closures on U.S. 39 and U.S. 35 in LaPorte for patching and resurfacing beginning Monday, May 11.
U.S. 39 will be reduced to one lane between U.S. 35 and U.S. 20 during work hours, with flaggers directing traffic. Work hours are expected to be approximately 10 hours a day during daylight hours Monday through Friday. Work may also be completed on Saturdays as needed.
The four lanes of U.S. 35 will be reduced to two lanes between Kingsbury Ave and U.S. 6, with one lane in each direction. Drivers will still be able to travel both northbound and southbound on U.S. 35.
INDOT urges drivers to stay alert near crews and follow traffic directions carefully. Drivers are encouraged to allow extra time when driving through this area. Drivers should slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free through all work zones.
This project is expected to be completed in late August, 2020. All work is weather dependent.
