Open Added Travel Lane Monday Morning
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. –The Indiana
Department of Transportation (INDOT) advises our contractor, Walsh Construction
plans to open the added travel lane on I-65 after rush hour on Monday, April
30, weather permitting. The additional lane in each direction is from
approximately the 168 to the 176 mile marker.
As part of an $82.8 million contract, Walsh
Construction added a third lane in each direction in the median from one half
of a mile south of State Road 38 to nearly one mile north of State Road 25.
This project also included construction of four noise walls, as well as
widening the S.R. 25, S.R. 26 and the Wildcat Creek Bridges. Four
overhead bridges rehabilitated with this project include, C.R. 200 S., C.R. 500
E., C.R. 350 E. (Eisenhower Road) and C.R. 200 N.
The contractor will continue clean-up
activities over the next couple of months.
Watch for lane restrictions on S.R. 26 next
week as the contractor will paint and surface seal underneath the I-65 Bridge
over the roadway.
