LaPorte Promotes Officer to Sergeant

Frazier-Yates

LaPorte, Ind. - On August 15, 2021, Melonie Frazier-Yates was promoted to the rank of Sergeant at LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility.  Melonie has been employed with the Department of Correction for more than three  years after her starting her DOC career in March 2018 at Indiana State Prison.  Melonie transferred to LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility in October 2018 as a Warrant Officer.  Melonie graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.  Her dedication to her career path stems from a troubled youth where different officers impact her life as a young teen.
