Corrections Week


LaPorte, Ind. -This past week, May 3rd -7th, the LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility (LJCF) celebrated Correctional Employee Appreciation Week. This is a week set aside to honor, recognize and show appreciation for the hard work, dedication, and service correctional staff performs every day despite the inherent risks, to ensure the safety and security of Indiana while also helping the youth of LaPorte Juvenile work through programs and earning their education.

Breakfast

To kick off Correctional Employee Appreciation Week, the kitchen staff at LJCF prepared and served omelets to all staff members over two days.  

Staff held a field day during the week where both staff and youth participated in a volleyball competition. After a few rounds of fun, laughter, and running back and forth, staff members walked away with the bragging rights, winning all eight of the games played. Fun was had by both the young women and staff alike

Luncheon

On the last day of Correctional Employee Appreciation Week, staff gathered together in the cafeteria where a lunch of steak and potatoes was provided. Staff members also brought in side dishes to accompany the meal

At the end of a successful week full of food, fun, and games, a cake was provided, and staff had the opportunity to grab a piece and celebrate each other's success, hard work, and appreciation.
