Sergeant William Allen has been working with youth in a correctional setting since 2012. He started his career in corrections at the Delaware County Detention Center and held the position of 2nd shift supervisor.
Sgt Allen started in the Indiana Department of Corrections in 2014 as a Youth Development Specialist at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility. Sergeant Allen promoted to the position of Sergeant at Pendleton Juvenile and worked with the Youth Incarcerated as Adults unit when they first arrived at the facility. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Ball State University in 2017 and he also is a graduate of the 2017 IDOC leadership Academy. He left the IDOC and pursued a career in Juvenile probation for 3 years and returned to the IDOC and promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Sergeant Allen said, "I am excited to be back in the IDOC to mentor both staff and students.”
