LaPorte, Ind. - LaPorte Juvenile Correctional Facility and Warden Jason Smiley is pleased to congratulate Officer LaShonda Daniel on her promotion to Sergeant.
Sergeant LaShonda Daniel was born in Cleveland, OH. In 2000, LaShonda moved to Indiana where she attended Michigan City High School, graduating in 2014. LaShonda then attended Baker College in Muskegon MI, where she was working towards a degree in Education.
LaShonda began her career with the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) in December 2019. Prior to her appointment with IDOC, LaShonda worked at the LaPorte County Juvenile Service Center for 10 years, 5 of those years she was in a supervisory potion as the unit lead.
Sergeant Daniel is being promoted due to her willingness to step up and do whatever it takes to be a team player and help her colleagues. Her dedication to her duties and responsibilities and the Indiana Department of Correction are recognized and appreciated.
Warden Smiley said, "Sergeant Daniel has done a tremendous job as an officer and we are excited to watch her grow into her new role for our facility."
