Indianapolis, Ind - IN2WORK at Indiana Women's Prison (IWP) provides classroom and hands-on vocational experience in the food-service industry.  The program is for 450 hours working in the kitchen in all different kitchen areas. They also have multiple tests in each phase of the classroom program.

IWP has had several successful graduations. 2020 graduation was postponed due to COVID-19. IWP has also had Aramark IN2WORK Scholarship winners and they have an IN2WORK intern. The intern is an IN2WORK graduate that has been hired by Aramark and is paid minimum wage.

Aramark gives 10 -  $1,000 scholarships to IN2WORK graduates that are still incarcerated and gives 5 - $1,000 scholarships to released IN2WORK graduates.

Aramark also has a link the graduates can text to help them seek employment once released.  The skills they learn in this program are the skills employers are looking for in employees. This program is a step in the reentry process for them.

Aramark Food Service Director, Derrick Rucker, was extremely proud of the dedication and hard work that was put forth by his students. Melissa Hess, IN2WORK Region Program Manager spoke about the availability of scholarships and intern opportunities. These women are taking their re-entry seriously and we cannot wait to see what the future holds for them.

Acting Warden Virginia Sampson said, "Congratulations on their accomplishment.  Completing the program will allow them many opportunities for employment upon their release and they should be proud that they are thinking about their future and being successful in the community.”
