"Silent Heroes" recognized at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility

Pendleton, Ind. - Executive Director of Behavioral Health, Deanna Dwenger, Quality Assurance Manager Eric Vanatti, and Warden Mike Minthorn are pleased to announce Dr. Michael Gray and Ms. Stephanie Harrison as Silent Hero award recipients at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility (PNJCF).

Dr. Gray was nominated for the Silent Hero Award by an anonymous staff member who said, "Dr. Gray is one of our newer psychologists who quickly became one of our superstars! He came in with a passion for training, plans for practicums and internships, and immediately set to work to grow the program. In less than a year, we had nearly 20 applicants for various sites around the state who were interested in a career in corrections. This is incredible for anyone who has ever had to hire staff! He is an excellent supervisor, his students love him, the staff loves him, and he just gets the job done. He never complains and when he sees a problem, he fixes it without so much as a peep. He has single-handedly organized this year's student pool and all the crazy forms, phone calls, and requirements that go along with it. He is incredible and we are lucky to have him!"

Stephanie Harrison was also nominated for the Silent Hero Award by an anonymous staff member who said, "Ms. Harrison is an amazing addition to the PNJCF team and has been for the past eight years. She is clinically solid, organized, and efficient. She has a great understanding of the juvenile justice system and how to treat and manage the students on her caseload most effectively. She is an amazing clinician and a fantastic employee.

Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility would like to thank Dr. Gray and Ms. Harrison for their hard work and dedication to the Indiana Department of Correction.
