Pendleton Correctional Facility Recognizes

Outstanding Work Performance by Custody Staff 

 

Pendleton, Ind. – Custody Supervisor, Major Mike Conyers at Pendleton Correctional Facility recently announced the 2020 Custody Awards for outstanding work performance by correctional staff and the contributions they make within the facility.

Lt. Johnathan Jackson

Supervisor of the Year: Johnathan Jackson

Lt. Jackson is a supervisor that his team can count on in times of need. He is directed, focused, and possesses strong work ethics. He is never too busy to aid his fellow staff members. In his current detail overseeing the Infirmary as the Unit Team Lieutenant, Lt. Jackson is in constant contact with medical professionals who are very complimentary of his work ethic, his willingness to follow through and get things done.

 

Correctional Officer of the Year: Joshua Andrews

Correctional Officer Joshua Andrews can be assigned to any post and fulfill the duties and responsibilities without hesitation. Regardless of his assignment or the situation, Officer Andrews is always available and willing to assist staff. With a calm and professional demeanor when dealing with offenders, Officer Andrews easily prevents situations from escalating. His reliability, flexibility, and calm demeanor sets a positive example for all staff to model and emulate.

Erik Lewis

Rookie of the Year: Erik Lewis

Officer Erik Lewis began his career with the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) on April 27, 2020. Within a few months of being assigned to a shift, Officer Lewis has been tasked as the Housing Unit Officer-In-Charge. Officer Lewis has displayed natural leadership skills and is not deterred or intimidated during difficult situations. Officer Lewis is QRT trained and can be counted on to assist his supervisors when needed.

 

Major Conyers said, “These staffs are among a group of elite individuals who have made a professional commitment to be conscientious, assist their co-workers, and promote a safe work environment for everyone. For them, this is simply not just a job, but a reflection of who they are as individuals and their aspirations to promote quality work performance. They understand that their actions are not only observed by staff, but also by offenders who we set an example upon."
