Career Opportunities at Putnamville Correctional Facility
Greencastle, Ind.— Correctional Officers are in high demand at the Putnamville Correctional Facility. Hiring and training of new correctional staff during a global pandemic has presented unique challenges. The department of correction has met these challenges with combination of virtual training sessions and in-person training that meets social distancing and sanitation standards for instructors and staff receiving training.
In response to the pandemic, the Putnamville Correctional Facility Staff Development and Training (SD&T) department implemented distance learning so hiring and training of new staff could continue. "We take pride in our working environment where people can feel safe being who they are, bring their ideas to the table, and be rewarded with a career that offers full benefits, new learning experiences and opportunity for advancement", said Adam Cornelison, the Training Coordinator at the Putnamville Correctional Facility. "Another benefit, so important today, is career security and stability; correctional officers will always be 'essential' career positions.
