Students at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility recognize their "Everyday Heroes"
Pendleton, Ind. - During the height of our COVID-19 difficulties, PNJCF Recreation Leader John Turner realized he had to try and lift the spirits of the staff and students at the facility. Mr. Turner developed an idea to put a picture of a mask on paper and have the students write something positive about the staff member on the mask and then color the mask. The mask would then go on our “Everyday Heroes” wall for all to see while walking through our recreation area.
Eventually each staff person at the facility had a mask on the wall that had a positive message written on it so they could see the good that others see in them.
Mr. Turner stated, “I just wanted staff to know that during these difficult times, others see the good we bring to work each day and appreciate the efforts to keep everyone safe”.
