Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility Announces Courage Award Winner
Pendleton, Ind. –Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility’s Warden Mike Minthorn is pleased to announce Program Director Sondra Woods has been awarded the Indiana Department of Correction's and Commissioner Carter’s “Courage Award”.
Ms. Woods was nominated by her peers and subordinates for her tireless efforts to improve staff morale during these uncertain times. She accomplished this by coordinating and distributing weekly staff food incentives; popcorn, cookies, ice cream, snacks and chips. In addition, she also organized a daily drawing where three random staff won prizes. Ms. Woods was not directed to complete these tasks. She saw a need, devised a plan, received approval and initiated said plan. Ms. Woods is supportive of staff and is willing to help in any way possible. She truly appreciates the staff here and has gone above and beyond the scope of her daily job duties to illustrate this.
