Silent Hero Awarded at Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility
Pendleton, Ind. – During this time of crisis, the IDOC understands the need to recognize hard working staff. With that being said, Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility would like to introduce you to our Silent Hero: Youth Development Specialist (YDS) Dewayne Sanders.
YDS Dewayne Sanders works wherever he is needed in the facility and never hesitates or asks questions. YDS Sanders has been part of a two man sanitation crew at the facility. YDS Sanders has stepped up in a tremendous way during COVID-19 and has become the go-to when supplies are needed. YDS Sanders makes himself available to pick up needed supplies from the warehouse across the street.
Additionally, he willingly takes a post throughout the shift and helps all brackets, all the while getting his job done to the best of his ability. Sanders always volunteers for overtime. YDS Sanders never refuses a post or complains about being pulled from his scheduled work duties to assist the custody ranks.
YDS Dewayne Sanders is the definition of a Silent Hero. #TellOurStory
