Branchville Staff Become Active Firefighters

Branchville, Ind. - Branchville Correctional Facility and Warden Kathy Alvey would like to announce the addition of four active firefighters to the Branchville Fire Crew.  Maintenance Foreman David Winebrenner, and Officers Matthew Bradley, Kayla Deweese and Mike Humphrey, will join Fire Chief Jimmie Vincent, and fire fighters Marty Fernow and Logan Flamion, as active Branchville Fire Crew members.  In addition, Chief Vincent, announced,  Officer Jeffery Allen is the newest member to join the Branchville Fire Crew ranks.

Each new active member has completed a six month Probationary Cadet training at Branchville.  As Active Fire Crew Members they are on call to assist with any fire related emergency at the facility. As the county, state and country begin to reopen in the coming days, weeks and months, these dedicated officers will become active and valued members of not only Branchville's fire crew, but State of Indiana Firefighters, who can be deployed at anytime to any location.

Warden Alvey, stated "These officers have answered the call to serve when they come to work at Branchville. By stepping up and becoming a firefighters, they have once again proved their dedication to the safety and security of all."   Warden Alvey continued, "I cannot express enough how much we appreciate these officers taking the time in addition to all their other duties to obtain this certification."

Branchville Correctional Facility is located in Northern Perry County, IN, within the Hoosier National Forrest.  As the State of Indiana begins to reopen, its national forest, recreational areas, the need for qualified active duty firefighters becomes vital for the safety of the local communities.
