Visitor Arrested at Branchville Correctional Facility
Branchville, Ind. - An investigation by the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC) resulted in the January 9th arrest of Lashea Taylor, 47. The investigation developed information alleging Taylor was attempting to traffic drugs into the Branchville Correctional Facility when visiting an offender. As a result of the investigation, suspected Suboxone was recovered.
Ms. Taylor was arrested, and transported to Perry County Jail pending a charge of:
- Trafficking a Controlled Substance with an Inmate-- Level 5 Felony
- Possession of a Controlled Substance-- Level 6 Felony
- Dealing in a Schedule V Controlled Substance-- Level 6 Felony
Warden Kathy Alvey commented, “We have a zero tolerance policy on trafficking. We will arrest and seek prosecution against any person who attempts to traffic illegal substances into any of our facilities."
Formal charges will be determined by the Perry County Prosecutor’s Office.
