This informal report by the Division of Entomology & Plant Pathology is a commentary on insects, diseases, and curiosities division staff encounter on a week-to-week basis. Comments and questions about this report are welcome and can be sent to your respective Inspector.
I was asked to remind everyone about a few upcoming conferences.
Indiana Horticultural Conference & Expo – Jan. 23 and 24 – Beck Ag Center, West Lafayette. The Indiana Horticultural Conference & Expo is a two-day meeting designed to inform vegetable and fruit producers on production practices, pest management, food processing and safety, marketing, and new regulatory requirements. Register online – no registration at the event. There are still a few seats available.
Indiana Arborist Association Annual Conference – Jan. 24-26 – Indianapolis Marriott East, Indianapolis. The IAA and its partners will be offering a full three-day program with educational opportunities and trade show for anyone involved in planning, planting, or managing trees in the built environment. Speakers from all over the country will provide information on research, current trends, and industry issues.
Indiana Green Expo – Jan. 30 through Feb. 1 – Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis. The 2023 Indiana Green Expo (IGE) is sponsored by the Indiana Nursery & Landscape Association and the Midwest Regional Turf Foundation. All proceeds from the IGE are used directly to better our industry through research, educational programming and other supporting functions. This year Purdue University and the industry have worked together to bring you the best line up yet! Our educational programming has something for all facets of the green industry. The trade show features vendors with new products and show specials to make it worth your while.
