Traffic Alert: Street Department road projects
CARMEL, Ind., Nov. 28, 2025 - The Carmel Street Department is committed to maintaining and improving our community’s infrastructure. To that end, we are issuing this Traffic Alert to inform residents and commuters about four upcoming, small-scale projects scheduled for local streets and neighborhoods over the coming weeks. Please note that all project timelines are weather-dependent, and schedules may shift.
BROOKSHIRE NORTH
Location: Brookshire North Date: Dec. 1 - 5 Details: Local closures will be in place in Brookshire North for concrete panel replacements. The map indicates where barrels will be placed to block off the areas where work is being conducted.

75 EXECUTIVE DRIVE
Location: 75 Executive Drive Date: Dec. 2 and 3; 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. Details: On Dec. 2 and 3, closures will be in place on Executive Drive for stormwater and concrete repair. Dec. 2 closure details: Starts with single lane closure in westbound lane, shifts to full closure, then shifts to a closure of the eastbound lane. The road will be open over night and will allow emergency vehicles through.
Dec. 3 closure details: Full closure from 7:30 a.m. until mid-morning.

2ND STREET NW
Location: 2nd Street NW, near 2nd Avenue NW Date: Dec. 4 - 10 Details: Sidewalk installation will be taking place in this area of 2nd Street NW. No closures expected.

116TH STREET, GRAY ROAD
Location: 116th Street east of Flowing Well Park entrance; and Gray Road, north of 116th Street Date: Dec. 5 - 9 Details: Flowing Well Park crosswalk installation. Dec. 5 - 6: Traffic shifting will be in place, utilizing the center lane on 116th Street. Dec. 7 : Lane shifting will be in place, utilizing the bike lane in both directions for the installation of the center island. Dec. 8 - 9: Single-lane closure on Gray Road will be in place. The contractor will have a police officer there to direct traffic.
