Carmel's Urban Forestry program celebrates Arbor Day at Carmel Farmers Market
CARMEL, Ind., April 24, 2025 -The City of Carmel will celebrate its 32nd Arbor Day on Saturday, May 3 at the opening day of the Carmel Farmers Market on Carter Green. The Carmel Urban Forestry Committee will be on hand from 8-11:30 a.m. to answer landscaping questions to promote proper tree planting, mulching and pruning techniques.
Carmel was named a 2024 Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation, marking the 31st consecutive year the city has been honored for its commitment to urban forestry management. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the US Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.
Please visit the Urban Forestry Committee booth where there will be International Society of Arboriculture certified city forestry staff and members of Carmel Urban Forestry Committee to answer your questions.
"We look forward to this event and seeing our community excited about planting trees,” says Jeremy Addleman, Carmel Urban Forestry Specialist. “It’s a great way to inspire greener, healthier landscapes.”
In addition, you can pick up a free tree seedling, including tree species of pecan, bald cypress and white oak.
