Get to know your City Councilors
We are launching a new series to help you get to know your Carmel City Councilors. Each councilor feature will offer valuable insights into the individuals working to serve our community.
Councilor Adam Aasen loves his community and believes that "every person can make a difference."
In January 2020, Aasen was elected to serve Carmel's Southeast District and is the current council president. His time on council has shown him how engaged and informed the community is and how passionate they are about local issues.
What community efforts inspire him?
"Carmel has always been a great place to buy a home, raise a family and send your children to top schools. But in the past decade-plus, we've seen our community grow into a walkable community with paths, parks and amenities. I'm proud to have voted to expand our trail connectivity, making it easier for people to run, walk and ride to restaurants, stores and playgrounds."
Where will you find him? "I love how family-friendly Carmel is. I have a six-year-old daughter and she loves playing in our parks, eating dinner in Midtown, watching music at the gazebo, attending local festivals and exploring nature. We go creek stomping at Flowing Well Park, practice soccer at Founders Park and cool off at the splash pads at Inlow Park. We celebrate birthdays at Cake Bake. Carmel helps me build special memories with my special girl."
You can connect with Councilor Aasen at aaasen@carmel.in.gov or (317) 696-4640.
