Inaugural conference draws capacity crowd
The She L.E.A.D.S. 2025 Mayor’s Conference, hosted by Mayor Sue Finkam, attracted a capacity audience on Thursday, with 350 professional women and 160 middle school students learning and networking as part of the inaugural event.
Funded through generous sponsorships, the conference held at 502 East Event Centre focused on inspiring women and middle school-aged girls in Carmel through Leadership, Empowerment, Advancement, Development and Service.

Agreements support Carmel’s commitment to public safety
Carmel City Council approved new contracts for our police and fire department personnel, ensuring competitive wages and benefits that recognize their dedication to our community.
Mayor Sue Finkam emphasized the importance of these agreements in keeping Carmel one of the safest cities in the nation: “Our residents appreciate living in Carmel for many reasons, and the safety of our community is chief among them. These agreements help us continue to attract and retain top talent in our police and fire teams.”

MAIN STREET On Wednesday, Feb. 26, eastbound Main Street will be closed to through traffic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for utility work. News from the Hamilton County Highway Department
146TH STREET - WHITE RIVER BRIDGE Effective on or after Monday, Feb. 24 between the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., drivers should expect daily lane closures for the right lane of eastbound 146th Street at the White River Bridge. The estimated completion date for this work is Friday, Feb. 28. Please use extreme caution while driving through this construction zone.

Artist call-out!
The Carmel Advisory Committee on Disability and the Carmel Arts Council will present their annual Adaptive Virtual Art Exhibit and are taking submissions from Carmel residents with disabilities.
Because the exhibition is virtual, there is no limit on the type, or size of eligible artworks. If it can be photographed it can be in the exhibition! Each artist may submit up to four pieces.
To be eligible for the exhibition, art must be new (not shown in previous exhibitions), family friendly and without overt advertising of a business, political party or religion. Must be by an artist with disability residing in Carmel or participating in a program in Carmel.

- Every Friday, we will announce one Carmel Caffeine Trail shop on our social media outlets and in this e-newsletter for the upcoming week.

 Congratulations to the incredible Carmel High School Girls Swimming and Diving team who celebrated its 39th consecutive State Championship!

"Mr. Carmel" is an annual Carmel High School event to raise awareness and promote inclusion through a pseudo-pageant. Pageant "contestants" are 10 senior students and their escorts who are members of the Champions Together Committee and/or Unified Sports.
