The City of Carmel provided an update on upcoming and ongoing construction projects taking place this fall including College Avenue, 106th Street and Hazel Dell Parkway, Walnut Street and Veterans Way and more.

City of Carmel announces 2024 Arts Grant application process
The City of Carmel is excited to announce the 2024 City Arts Grant application process, which will be conducted entirely online for the first time. This program aims to support local arts organizations that contribute to the vibrancy and appeal of our community. Since its inception in 2004, more than $17.3 million in arts grants have been awarded. The City Council has approved $1.47 million in funding for the 2024 grant cycle.

Meet Me on Main this weekend
Make plans to head to the Arts & Design District on Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. for Allied Solutions' Meet Me on Main. This month's event includes a hot glass workshop with artist Lisa Pelo.

HAVERSTICK ROAD - Haverstick Road from E. 96th Street to E. 99th Street is open to southbound traffic only while work is underway in the northbound lane. This will re-open in November.
LOWES WAY - On or after Thursday, Nov. 7 through Nov. 13, there will be work in the median on Lowes Way, south of the roundabout at Lowes Way.
111TH STREET - On or after Thursday, Nov. 14, the eastbound lane from Spring Mill Road to Spring Mill Lane will be closed for repair work for two days.

Home Place Sub Area Plan Open House
Hosted by: City of Carmel, Yard & Company Date and time: Wednesday, Nov. 13, 4:30 - 8 p.m. Location: Behind the Township Offices (10701 N. College Ave.)
As the Home Place Sub Area Plan process continues, DOCS team members and Comp Plan consultants, Yard & Company invite residents and stakeholders to learn about their findings from this summer and through the early fall. This event will also be to discuss opportunities for how to proceed with the sub area plan.

Place-based Organization Workshop #2: How PBOs Work to Create Great Places
Hosted by: City of Carmel, Yard & Company Date and time: Wednesday, Nov. 13, 5:30 - 7 p.m. Location: Training Room, Fire Station 345 (10701 N. College Ave.)
The workshop will cover a wide range of things placed-based organizations (PBOs) do and how they could apply in Home Place. We'll look at the organizational needs of great places, highlight where work is already being done in Home Place, and explore where there may still be needs to create what the community wants for Home Place.

Brookshire Golf Course closes out its regular season on Friday, Nov. 15 but starting Nov. 16, simulators will be available daily.

Fall leaf and landscape waste removal Now through Dec. 15, each Carmel Utilities/Republic Services residential customer home is allowed up to 20 bags/bundles (four feet or shorter bundles) of landscape waste pick up per week, free of charge.

The Grand Opening of the Carmel Clay History Museum is Sunday, Nov. 17 from 1 - 5 p.m.
The open house event will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. with remarks following. The public is invited to join the Carmel Clay Historical Society team as they share the rich history of Carmel and Clay Township while enjoying light refreshments throughout the afternoon.
