Carmel Fire Department, City of Carmel present Movember event 'Everyone Deserves Their Morning Sun'
CARMEL, Ind., Oct. 24, 2024 - The Carmel Fire Department (CFD) and the City of Carmel proudly present the Movember event "Everyone Deserves Their Morning Sun" dedicated to raising awareness for men’s health. On Monday, Nov. 4 at 9 a.m. the roundabout at Range Line Road, Clay Terrace Boulevard and Lowes Way will be transformed into a vibrant tribute to men impacted by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health challenges. This event goes beyond a fundraiser - it’s a statement of hope and strength for everyone touched by the issues Movember seeks to address.
A Beacon of Courage and Unity "Morning Sun" by artist Brad Howe, is one of Carmel's most recognizable public art pieces. Next month it will take on new significance as it transforms into a place of remembrance, support and victory through the month of November. Its rounded, rising shape - just like the sun that shines after every storm - is a metaphor for the cause at the heart of Movember: men's health.
"I am very proud of this piece," said Howe. "I'm honored and delighted that it will be used for such an important campaign."
This year, every $5 received for Movember will go towards the placement of a white flag in the center of the roundabout. These flags will represent survivors, loved ones and supporters and will create a visible and powerful display of unity and shared courage.
The hope is that the center of the roundabout will be a sea of flags that tell stories of triumph over the health challenges Movember shines a light on and will serve as reminders that overcoming them is not just a personal victory, but a shared one.
Help Carmel Shine Brighter With "Morning Sun" at the center of this event, CFD's goal is to make it a beloved and meaningful spot in Carmel throughout the month of November of beyond - a place that symbolizes resilience, community and the unstoppable spirit of those who continue to fight for better health outcomes for men. The Nov. 4 event will be a celebration but also a moment of reflection and inspiration that will be remembered long after the sun sets.
