It's festival season in Carmel!
School is back in session and the summer is winding down but September in the city is all about art, music and enjoying a roster of unique events set in Carmel's Arts & Design and Midtown districts. Whether this is your first year to attend or these events have become traditions, here is what you can expect in the following weeks.

INDIANA WOMEN'S RUNNING FESTIVAL - Saturday, Aug. 31, is Race Day for the Indiana Women's Running Festival (IWRF). The route maps for the half marathon, 10K and 5K races can be found on the IWRF website at this link.
MAIN STREET - Crews are completing restoration on an emergency watermain repair on Main Street east of Old Meridian Street; the road is expected to be open by end of business, today.
PENNSYLVANIA STREET ROUNDABOUT - Beginning on or after Sept. 3, there will be a full closure for the construction of a roundabout at Pennsylvania Street and the Liberty Fund building just north of 111th Street. During this 60-day closure of Pennsylvania Street, the roundabout at 111th Street will remain open.
WEST 96TH STREET - Beginning on or after Sept. 9, you will not be able to travel eastbound on W. 96th Street between Spring Mill Road and Ditch Road due to the construction of a multi-use path. Westbound traffic will be maintained for the duration of this work which is expected to last through December 2024.
FROM HAMILTON COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
146TH STREET AND ALLISONVILLE ROAD - Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3, there will be lane restrictions along Allisonville Road south of 146th Street between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., through Friday, Sept. 6. Drivers should expect construction equipment entering and exiting work zone areas. Also, beginning on or after the dates listed below, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the county's contractor will utilize lane restrictions for the delivery of materials in the work area and asphalt paving operations. The lane restrictions will take place in the left-hand westbound lane and the left-hand eastbound lane of 146th Street.

Carmel Utilities (Trash & Recycling Delay and Household Hazardous Waste Closing Reminders)
Due to Labor Day, Republic Services Trash & Recycling will be on a one-day delay the week of Sept. 2 and the Carmel Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed Saturday, Aug. 31.
Carmel Utilities wishes you a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation Explore Indiana's natural resources with the Indiana Master Naturalist (IMN) program. Complete six of eight classes and 24 volunteer hours to earn your IMN certificate and pin.

On the Midtown Screen
Head to Midtown Plaza on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Movies at Midtown presented all summer long by Allied Solutions, on the big screen. Showings are at noon and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and 6 p.m. on Thursdays. This link takes you to the 2024 movie schedule.

Carmel Gazebo Family Concert Series Blue River Band Wednesday, Sept. 4, 7 - 9 p.m.

Carmel City Center will host a Summer Sip & Shop event on Saturday, Sept. 7 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visitors are invited to enjoy complimentary refreshments at participating shops, a DJ on the plaza and fun activities for the whole family. This link takes you to the full news release.
