Team Bounceback initiative formed to bring back, retain local talent
CARMEL, Ind., August 16, 2024 - The City of Carmel is excited to introduce Team Bounceback, an initiative aimed at attracting former local high school students who have left the area and encouraging current students to build their futures in Carmel. The committee, led by Carlton Anker (pictured), an attorney for Lewis And Wilkins LLP, will serve as an informal advisory body focused on strengthening the city’s ties with its younger generations.
"Our city has so much to offer, and we want to make sure that the young people who grew up here recognize the opportunities that await them in Carmel,” said Mayor Sue Finkam. “Team Bounceback is a crucial step in our efforts to keep our community strong by encouraging our talented youth to make Carmel their lifelong home."
Team Bounceback will play a pivotal role in shaping strategies to make Carmel an even more appealing place for young people to live, work, and thrive. By reconnecting with former residents and engaging current students, the initiative seeks to ensure that Carmel remains a vibrant and dynamic community for years to come.
"As someone who has seen the growth and evolution of Carmel firsthand, I understand the value of keeping our local talent close to home,” said Anker. “With Team Bounceback, we aim to create a welcoming environment that inspires both former and current students to see Carmel as the ideal place to build their futures."
The committee, composed of eight voluntary members, will meet on an as-needed basis and is open to expanding its membership as the initiative evolves. Team Bounceback will provide valuable insights and recommendations to city officials, ensuring that Carmel continues to grow as a community where young people want to live and contribute.
