Carmel Fire Department hosts Carmel Clay Community Building grand opening
The Carmel Fire Department will host the grand opening of the Carmel Clay Community Building on Thursday, August 15 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Announced in 2019 as part of Clay Township's park and public safety impact projects, the new Carmel Clay Community Building is home to the Carmel Fire Department headquarters, Carmel Fire Buffs Museum, Stay Alive Family Education House (S.A.F.E.) and community gathering and event space.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. with opening remarks followed by refreshments and tours of the facility. This family-friendly event is free - the public is encouraged to attend. Public parking is available on Veterans Way, Monon Boulevard and in the Midtown and Indiana Design Center parking garages.

FALL 2024 CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
The City of Carmel provided an update on upcoming and ongoing construction projects taking place this fall. Projects include the Veterans Way connectivity project, the Hazel Dell Parkway and 106th Street roundabout, among others.

The tenth annual Rain on Main event, a popular painted rain barrel contest and auction presented by Carmel Utilities, Carmel Department of Storm Water Management and the Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation District, kicks off Friday, August 9, with a display of 20 decorated barrels in the Carmel Arts & Design District.
The barrels will remain along Main Street through the following week until they are relocated to the Carmel Farmers Market on Saturday, August 17. For more information, including how to vote for your favorite rain barrel, this link takes you to the full news release.

On the Midtown Screen
Head to Midtown Plaza on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Movies at Midtown presented all summer long by Allied Solutions, on the big screen. Showings are at noon and 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and 6 p.m. on Thursdays. This link takes you to the 2024 movie schedule.

Family Fun Ride Saturday, August 10
Join us for the last Family Fun Ride of the season at Carmel Elementary featuring a bike rodeo, face painting, public safety vehicles and a two-mile bike ride.

Slow Roll Dinner Cruise Tuesday, August 13
ADULTS! Join Bike Carmel for a slowwww ride through the city. Meet at Midtown Plaza at 5:30 p.m. to check in and depart at 6 p.m.

Roundabout Ride Saturday, September 14
Bike Carmel will host the 4th Annual Roundabout Ride on Saturday, September 14 at 7 a.m., sponsored by IU Health. This fun event will have two distance options, 25 miles and 50 miles; the costs will be $55 for the 25-mile option and $75 for the 50-mile option.

The Carmel High School Ambassadors and Accents host annual fundraiser August 10.
