City of Carmel establishes Mayor's Advisory Commission on Veterans and Military Families
Mayor Sue Finkam announced the formation of the Mayor’s Advisory Commission on Veterans and Military Families, a new initiative dedicated to addressing the unique needs and challenges faced by veterans and military families within the Carmel community. This commission is a testament to Carmel’s commitment to honoring and supporting its veteran residents and business owners.
“Veterans and members of the military from our city have dedicated themselves to protecting our freedoms and ensuring the safety of our nation, often at great personal cost. Their courage, resilience and commitment are truly inspiring,” said Mayor Finkam. “This commission will play a crucial role in identifying and addressing the needs of our veteran community.”

Carmel Sister Cities to host Olympic Opening Ceremony Viewing Party in Midtown
The City of Carmel's six Sister Cities will host a viewing party of the Opening Ceremonies of the 2024 Paris Olympics in Midtown Plaza to promote global unity and awareness of Carmel’s sister city relationships and cheer on our Carmel Olympians. Be sure to wear your SwimCity, USA t-shirt if you have one! Shirts are available for purchase at All Things Carmel, 110 W. Main St. #104.

SPRING MILL ROAD AND I-465 - Thursday, July 18, a truck carrying heavy equipment on I-465 westbound struck the bridge at Spring Mill Road. The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is conducting inspection of the bridge. Spring Mill Road will remain closed between 96th Street and Illinois Street until approved for safe travel by INDOT. Interstate 465 is open for travel.

City of Carmel Ribbon Cutting for Carmel Police Department Expansion
Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam will host a ribbon cutting for the recently completed expansion of the Carmel Police Department (CPD). The renovation and expansion of the CPD headquarters will support the necessary growth in Carmel’s police department infrastructure that corresponds with the city’s increase in population over the past few decades. The addition will also house the Carmel City Court and Clerk's Office, as well as their associated programs that will serve the community for generations to come.
When: Thursday, July 25, 10 a.m. Where: Carmel Police Department, 1000 S. Range Line Road. Northeast corner of Range Line Road and Red Truck Road.

Roundabout Ride returns
Saturday, September 14
The City of Carmel and Bike Carmel will be hosting the 4th Annual Roundabout Ride on Saturday, September 14 at 7 a.m., sponsored by IU Health. This fun event will have two distance options, 25 miles and 50 miles; the costs will be $55 for the 25-mile option and $75 for the 50-mile option.
