“I am extremely excited to bring D.J. and Anna into the command staff. D.J. is a fantastic leader and someone I think will help improve both internal operations and our external image. His background and the relationships he has built in Carmel over the past 20 years make him an excellent candidate to lead CPD from the front," said Chief Sterling. "Major Flaming brings experience from the administrative side, policy preparation and patrol. She is a visionary and an innovative leader. With the creation of the Performance and Planning Division, Anna will have the opportunity to steer CPD in the direction we want to see.”
To facilitate these changes, Brady Myers will assume the role of Deputy Chief of Police Services. Myers previously served as Deputy Chief of Administration and Sgt. Katy Malloy has been slated to backfill Schoeff’s position as Lt. of the Support Services Division.
