Mayor Finkam launches Community Survey
Members of the Carmel City Council, City Directors and City staff joined Mayor Sue Finkam Wednesday afternoon in Midtown Plaza at a press conference to announce the launch of the Community Survey.

“I am thrilled to launch a survey that will give our residents a real voice in the direction we take and the decisions we make,” said Mayor Finkam. “I heard over and over during my campaign that residents felt their voices were not heard. This survey will help inform us what you care about so that together, we can elevate Carmel."

Drake Sterling named chief of police
An experienced police executive leader with more than fifteen years of dedicated law enforcement service will serve as the new chief of police for the City of Carmel, Mayor Sue Finkam announced today.
Drake Sterling will assume the role February 29, providing the leadership and direction necessary to enable members of the Carmel Police Department to deliver the highest level of law enforcement services to the community.

Zac Jackson named chief financial officer
A seasoned state leader with more than two decades of experience in financial management will serve as chief financial officer and controller for the City of Carmel, Mayor Sue Finkam announced today.
Jackson will assume the role April 8, managing all aspects of financial and cash flow planning, analyzing the city’s financial position, as well as setting and monitoring financial strategy.

March is Disability Awareness Month and the Carmel Advisory Committee on Disability (CACD) has planned events and initiatives to celebrate. Saturday, March 2, head to Midtown Plaza for Community Sensory Day:
- Free snack items, courtesy of BraunAbility
- Giveaways and sensory activities
- CACD video screening at 10:45 a.m.
- Enjoy a movie with closed captions at 11 a.m.
- Virtual Art Exhibition launch at 1 p.m.
We will share additional events and activities in the coming weeks.

Note: The February 18 performance at 2 p.m. is designated as an inclusive performance, designed to create a welcoming experience that is intended for patrons who have social, cognitive, or physical challenges that create sensory sensitivities.
