Congratulations to our Midtown's Got Talent winners!
The Midtown's Got Talent competition took place the weekend of August 25-27. Thank you to everyone who auditioned and congratulations to the winners in the three categories.

Traffic Alert
NEWS FROM HAMILTON COUNTY HIGHWAY
GRAY ROAD - Beginning on or after September 3, the county will begin work on a bridge on Gray Road between 96th and 106th Street. This is expected to last for approximately 30 days and will include a full closure of Gray Road in the construction area.
NEWS FROM INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (INDOT)
MICHIGAN ROAD - There will be intersection closures at 96th, 106th and 116th Street beginning September 15 through October 23 as INDOT performs concrete pavement restoration. These closures will take place from 9 p.m. Friday evening through 5 a.m. Monday morning.
The week prior to each closure, watch for message boards posted at Zionsville Road and Shelborne Road to alert travelers of the impending closures.

Carmel on Canvas September 15-17
This unique event provides artists with two days of plein air painting in the Carmel Arts & Design District, Midtown Plaza and Monon Greenway, the City Japanese Gardens, Carmel City Center and Central Park. This also provides a wonderful opportunity for the public to watch the artists create and see how they interpret our community onto their canvases.

The Carmel Clay Historical Society will host the Great Squirrel Stampede 1K and 3K walk/run at Coxhall Gardens. Open to all ages and even four-legged members of the family!

Volunteers Needed - Carmel PorchFest September 17
Calling teen and adult volunteers who love music!
Carmel PorchFest is a free, family-friendly community event where a variety of musical acts perform live on neighborhood porches. Food and beverage vendors are also available. The featured musical acts range from acoustic to electric, solo to ensemble covering multiple different musical genres. A variety of volunteer positions are available ranging from set up to tear down to 'Roadies' to assist bands with their equipment.

Carmel PorchFest Grant Program
Students 6 - 18 years of age are eligible to apply for financial assistance for music lessons, musical instruments and other music-related services in return for volunteering time at Carmel PorchFest's many events held throughout the year.

Carmel International Arts Festival
September draws to a close with one of the largest festivals of the year in the Arts & Design District. The streets will be closed to traffic but alive with more than 100 artists in an array of media to provide the community with the finest samplings to purchase and take home.

EV Ride and Drive
The City of Carmel in partnership with the Greater Indiana Clean Cities, Hoosier Electric Vehicle Association, Carmel Green Initiative, AAA's My Pit Crew and Knozone is excited to announce that, as part of the National Drive Electric Week, we will be hosting our 4th Annual EV Ride and Drive.

Tom Jennings - Hailed by the Boston Globe as a “highly attuned pianist,” Jennings has performed with artists from a wide array of genres.
Gregory M. Jones - Upright and electric bassist Jones, can be seen and heard in seasons four and five of the award winning The Marvelous Mrs Maisel.
