Save the Date Eos: The First Dawn
You are invited to attend the first show of Palladiscope, a major new City of Carmel production at the Palladium on Thursday, August 31 at 8 p.m. at Carter Green.
Please join the City of Carmel as it presents a brand new visual experience on the façade of the Palladium at The Center for the Performing Arts.
The first Palladiscope show will bring to life the story of Eos: The First Dawn on the south facing sections of the Palladium. This unique presentation was produced entirely at Blockhouse Studios in Bloomington, Indiana. Refreshments will be provided, including a beer can design created by Sun King Brewing specifically for this show.
Beginning August 31, the show will run on a daily basis, at nightfall, every half hour beginning at 9 p.m., with the last show beginning at 11 p.m. As the season changes, and nightfall occurs earlier, show times will be adjusted accordingly.

Traffic Alert
NEWS FROM HAMILTON COUNTY HIGHWAY Beginning on or after September 3, the county will begin work on a bridge on Gray Road north of 96th Street. This is expected to last for approximately 30 days and will include a full closure of Gray Road in the area indicated in red in the map below.

Members of CFD deployed to Maui with IN USAR TF1
The City of Carmel thanks the following members of the Carmel Fire Department who have been deployed with Indiana USAR Task Force #1 to Wildfire Operations in Maui, HI: Captain Scott Tierney, Captain Kurt Weddington, Captain Adam Harrington, Engineer Scott Stroup and Firefighter Cory Anderson. Thank you for your service!
CFD welcomes new ambulance

Rain on Main enjoys another successful year |

Results of the judged competition found Carolyn Willard in first place with her Water Into Wine design; Ranj Puthran in second place with Into the Wild; and in third place with Bubbly Sunset, was Ashley Richardson.
Judges also recognized Audrey Papay of Guerin High School and the Carmel High School Art Honor Society as honorable mention selections.

This weekend!
Talented and entertaining vocalists and musicians, age 10 and older, will hit the stage to see who can “wow” a panel of judges and take home up to $500 in cash prizes.

White River Clean Up August 26
The annual White River Clean Up is back! The City of Carmel, City of Fishers, the White River Alliance, White River Canoe Company and Conner Prairie need your help picking up trash while canoeing along the White River.

Volunteers from Carmel should select the White River Canoe Company (which appears as: "WRCC Livery to Connor Prairie" on the sign up page) to Conner Prairie Admission Ticket Option and arrive at Conner Prairie no later than 8 a.m. for check-in.

Volunteers Needed - Carmel PorchFest September 17
Calling teen and adult volunteers who love music!
Carmel PorchFest is a free, family-friendly community event where a variety of musical acts perform live on neighborhood porches. Food and beverage vendors are also available. The featured musical acts range from acoustic to electric, solo to ensemble covering multiple different musical genres. A variety of volunteer positions are available ranging from set up to tear down to 'Roadies' to assist bands with their equipment.

Carmel PorchFest Grant Program
Students 6 - 18 years of age are eligible to apply for financial assistance for music lessons, musical instruments and other music-related services in return for volunteering time at Carmel PorchFest's many events held throughout the year.

Fall 2023 Carmel Citizens Utility Academy - Registration Now Open!
The fall class begins September 26, 2023, and will meet for approximately two hours, every Tuesday morning, for seven weeks (please note no session on October 10 due to Fall Break). The Academy is free and open to Carmel residents.

Labor Day Weekend - Carmel Utilities (Trash & Recycling Delay and HHW Closing Reminders)
Due to Labor Day, Republic Services Trash & Recycling will be on a one-day delay the week of September 4, 2023.
Carmel Household Hazardous Waste Collection Center will be closed Saturday, September 2.

Calling all creatives!
Indiana-based artists, organizations invited to submit proposals for New Works
New Works is an initiative by The Center for the Performing Arts to promote and sustain local artists and arts communities. Through this program, The Center supports the creation of new works across all performing arts disciplines, including but not limited to music, theater and dance.
Three winning proposals will receive $2,500 each in funding, along with rehearsal time and technical support, to premiere the works onstage during a public, live-streamed event June 1, 2024 at the Tarkington Theater.

City of Carmel offices will be closed Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day.
All public meetings take place in the Council Chambers in City Hall, unless otherwise indicated. Public meetings are broadcast live on Carmel TV and YouTube .
