Go with the Flow
By now you have likely seen the Cosmic Flow mosaic murals on the Civic Square Garage near the Old Spaghetti Factory. If not, take a look at this video featuring Carmel mosaic artist Nancy Keating, Carmel Redevelopment Commission Director Henry Mestetsky and Deputy Director Jenell Fairman as they work together to bring more public art to the city.
Carmel Gala raises more than $75,000 for Carmel Youth Assistance Program

Thanks to generous sponsors and community support, the Carmel Gala, Design Bright Futures, was a big success for the Carmel Youth Assistance Program, which received profits of more than $75,000 from the sold-out event held on April 29 at Ritz Charles.
These funds will be used to help advocates identify and provide community resources to these families such as food and clothing assistance, camp and recreational opportunities, mentor pairings, tutoring, counseling services and more.

Carmel Summer Meals Program/Carmel Youth Assistance needs your help!
Volunteers are needed to stand outside both Carmel Kroger locations to hand out flyers and collect food donations. Families and youth are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Carmel City Center hosts Sip & Shop event
Join the Shops at Carmel City Center for another Sip & Shop on Saturday, June 3 from noon to 3 p.m. Visitors are invited to Sip & Shop with special sales and promotions and complimentary libations at four of the businesses.

Construction News
The City of Carmel announced its summer construction schedule in a news release last week. Project updates include City Center Drive and Veterans Way, 3rd Avenue SW, the roundabouts on Main Street and the roundabout on Smoky Row (pictured below), and more. Click here for the full news release.

MAIN STREET - On May 30, Main Street fully closed for the completion of the construction of the roundabout at Lexington Boulevard and and continued work on the section between Richland Avenue and Lexington Boulevard. Westbound and local traffic will open before the July 4 holiday and the project is expected to be substantially complete before the start of school in August.
NEWS FROM HAMILTON COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
116TH STREET - On or after Monday, June 12, 116th Street between Eller Road and River Road will be under lane restrictions for bridge joint replacement. The estimated project completion date is Friday, June 16. Lane restrictions will be in place daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with flaggers in place throughout this process.

Put on your fire hats and help the Carmel Fire Auxiliary set a World Record
This July 4 you can be part of setting a world record when the Carmel Fire Auxiliary will attempt to set a world record for the most people wearing red plastic fire helmets. A large part of the Carmel Fire Auxiliary is community outreach and positive impacts. The goal in setting this world record is to bring the whole community of Carmel together in a fun way.

Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation to offer new Nature Keepers Program this Summer
Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation will offer a new youth program this summer called Nature Keepers. This half-day nature program will be led by the Parks & Natural Resources team and hosted at different parks each week to provide an immersive, hands-on experience.
Nature Keepers is designed for ages 5-11. Morning sessions are for ages 5-7, while afternoons are for ages 8-11.

Inaugural Carmel Jazz Fest August 11 - 12
The inaugural Carmel Jazz Fest is scheduled for August 11 and 12. The two-day festival will feature more than 30 international, national and regional jazz, R&B and blues acts across eight stages throughout Carmel, including The Palladium, The Tarkington, Carmel Gazebo, Carter Green, The Studio Theatre, Midtown Plaza, Feinstein's at Hotel Carmichael and pop-up performances. The event includes an upscale art market, beer, wine and food vendors.
