Ice at Carter Green skating tickets are now on sale
Ice skating tickets for The Ice at Carter Green, sponsored by Allied Solutions, are now available for sale.
The 2022-2023 ice skating season opens on Saturday, November 19 and will follow the Christkindlmarkt’s open dates and times. After the market closes on December 30, the Ice will remain open through the winter, until its closing day on Sunday, February 26, 2023.
Carmel Christkindlmarkt volunteers needed
Be a part of the Christkindlmarkt magic this holiday season by volunteering at the market! Carmel Christkindlmarkt is one of the most popular markets in the United States, attracting well over half a million people since the opening in 2017. It was voted Best Holiday Market in 2019 and 2021 by USA Today (no Market in 2020). In addition, Wealth of Geeks voted Carmel Christkindlmarkt as the #8 best market in the WORLD!
This year, the market features presentations by world-renowned woodworkers from the Erzgebirge region of Germany. The market will also offer a blend of traditional German foods and gifts for sale in small wooden huts and entertainment on the Winter Pavillion stage. The market surrounds a beautiful outdoor ice skating rink, The Ice at Carter Green.
Consider volunteering with us and being a part of our guests’ holiday memories this winter.

City of Carmel receives special holiday donation
It is time, once again, for the Carmel Street Department to work their holiday magic at Carter Green in preparation for the opening of the Christkindlmarkt and The Ice at Carter Green on November 19. This year, Operations Manager Crystal Edmondson was thrilled to receive a generous donation in the form of the Christmas tree for Carter Green, from Gene and Melissa Skalicky.
"We are HUGE Christkindlmarkt fans and proud German Americans. We were very active with Sister Cities and Germanfest for more than 30 years when we lived in Fort Wayne." said, Melissa Skalicky. "We moved to Hamilton County three and a half years ago and went to the market every night after work. When we bought our home, we knew the tree would need to come down...it was a no brainer and our sincerest hope to donate it to the market."

Help keep storm drains open
It’s that time of year when storm drains get clogged by leaves. Clogged drains can flood streets and yards during rain events. The City of Carmel Stormwater Department would like to remind residents to keep the metal grates in the street, and in rear yards, free of debris.
Residents that live next to storm drains can use a rake to clear the debris and remove gunk from the area to help prevent clogging of the drain. Remember to try to keep leaves out of the street and rear yard swales. You can make your efforts known by clicking here to learn how to adopt your storm drain.
