Thousands enjoy art, music, festivities at Carmel International Arts Festival
The Carmel International Arts Festival brought dozens of artists across a wide variety of media to the Arts & Design District last weekend and a shot of cool, autumn weather helped attract thousands of visitors to Main Street and Range Line Road for the two-day festival.

Carmel Fire Department deploys team to Florida
Our thoughts are with the Carmel Fire Department task force team that has been deployed to Florida to assist with hurricane Ian. Thank you to Captains Adam Harrington and Scott Tierney and Firefighters Scott Stroup, Carlos Wilson and Cory Anderson for your service assisting the people of Florida during this very difficult time.

Carmel celebrates the reopening of reimagined Meadowlark Park !
Meadowlark Park has been updated as part of the Reimagining Parks initiative, made possible by the Clay Township Impact Program.
Located in the heart of the city’s Arts & Design District, Meadowlark Park offers an escape into nature and outdoor recreation just steps from the hustle and bustle of shops and restaurants. This 19-acre park was originally developed in 1995 and was fully reimagined in 2022.
Carmel Fire Department dedicates new fire apparatus at Station 342
This week, the Carmel Fire Department dedicated its latest fire truck, which has been added to CFD's fleet of emergency vehicles! Serving the Southwest District from Station 342, this new truck was blessed, dedicated and ceremoniously pushed into the station by firefighters and community members.

Oktoberfest is tonight!
Celebrate the arrival of autumn tonight at Carmel City Center from 6 - 10 p.m. as the City of Carmel and Carmel City Center present Oktoberfest! Enjoy the dance-worthy polka tunes of Indy Polkamotion and bring your appetite to partake in delicious German-themed dishes from local restaurants and plenty of adult beverage choices.

Midtown's Got Talent
Head to Midtown Plaza tonight and Saturday at 6 p.m. for performances by the Top 10 finalists in each of the three categories at Midtown's Got Talented, presented by Allied Solutions.

Electric Vehicle Ride and Drive
Have you ever driven an electric vehicle? If not, here is your chance. Saturday, October 1, from 4 - 7 p.m. the City will host its fourth annual Electric Vehicle Ride and Drive at its new location in the Indiana Design Center parking lot.

Late Night on Main
Saturday, October 1, Carmel PorchFest presents Late Night on Main one last time until next year. Head to the stage at Main Street and Range Line Road for dancing in the streets 'til midnight with Country Summer.

Construction and Traffic news
East Smoky Row slip lane at Keystone Parkway - This work will continue through October with no scheduled closures of the intersection.
106th Street and College Avenue Roundabout - This 60-day project will be substantially complete in November and includes the new roundabout and construction of a multi-use path from Pennsylvania Parkway to College Avenue along 106th Street. The construction of this path is in the city's existing right-of-way and should not cause a closure of 106th Street.
Monon Greenway Closure - The Monon Greenway north of Smoky Row to the Hagan Burke Trail will be closed until the end of the year for the reconstruction of a culvert.

City Council committee recommends additional revisions to proposed Comprehensive Plan
The City Council’s Land Use and Special Studies Committee met on September 19 and recommended additional revisions to the proposed Comprehensive Plan. Watch for additional discussion at the City Council meeting on Monday, October 3 at 6 p.m.

Carmel Utilities continues replacing aging water meters across the community with new, enhanced equipment allowing for more accurate readings and better water efficiency.
Please note, as the project moves to Phase Two, there are new instructions:
In order for the following indoor water meters to be changed, PLEASE schedule with Envocore - RTS Water Solutions by calling their service number (888) 632-9628.

The City of Carmel Utilities Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) was recently the recipient of two awards: the 2022 Indiana Water Environment Association (IWEA) Laboratory Excellence Award (21 consecutive years) and the 2022 IWEA Excellence in Safety Award.
