Carmel Advisory Committee on Disability supports The September 26th Project
National project helps special needs families be emergency-ready
The Carmel Advisory Committee on Disability is acknowledging The September 26th Project and is asking all autism and special needs families in Carmel to take just 10 minutes on or around September 26, to take steps to prepare for crisis and emergency.
Please mark your calendars and print checklists to check the details in your life to ensure your loved ones are safe. This can be as simple as checking your smoke detectors or identifying exit plans in case of an emergency. Please also consider registering for Carmel’s Specific Response Registry to provide advanced notice to emergency response personnel (including, but not limited to, Carmel Fire Department, Carmel Police Department and Hamilton County Public Safety Communications (9-1-1 dispatch)) of a resident that may have difficulty leaving a residence quickly in the event of an emergency or that may require a specific response from emergency response personnel.
For more information on The September 26th Project, click here.
