Congratulations to Lauth Group, Inc. and the Carmel Redevelopment Commission on Tuesday’s official beam topping ceremony at the new 1st On Main project rising from the ground at Main Street and Range Line Road.
This new mixed-use development will feature 73,000 square feet of office space, on-site parking garage, community gathering areas, eight luxury condos and 35 apartments. And … the return of the Carmel Rotary clock!

Carmel International Arts Festival

September comes to a close with one of the largest festivals of the year in the Arts & Design District. The streets will be closed to traffic but alive with more than 100 artists in an array of mediums to provide the community with the finest samplings to purchase and take home.

Construction and Traffic news
East Smoky Row slip lane at Keystone Parkway - This work will continue through October with no scheduled closures of the intersection.
106th Street and College Avenue Roundabout - This intersection is now closed. This 60-day project will be substantially complete in November and includes the new roundabout and construction of a multi-use path from Pennsylvania Parkway to College Avenue along 106th Street. The construction of this path is in the city's existing right-of-way and should not cause a closure of 106th Street.
Monon Greenway Closure - On or after September 6, the Monon Greenway north of Smoky Row to the Hagan Burke Trail will be closed until the end of the year for the reconstruction of a structure.

Carmel Utilities continues replacing aging water meters across the community with new, enhanced equipment allowing for more accurate readings and better water efficiency.
Please note, as the project moves to Phase Two, there are new instructions:
In order for the following indoor water meters to be changed, PLEASE schedule with Envocore - RTS Water Solutions by calling their service number (888) 632-9628.

Community Shred-It & Electronics Recycling Day September 17
The Carmel Shred-It event will be held on Saturday, September 17, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of Creekside Middle School, located on the southeast corner of West 126th Street and Shelborne Road. This event is presented by the Carmel Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana and sponsored by a team of organizations including: Walgreens, AARP, Carmel Utilities, Technology Recyclers, Shred-it, Lamar Advertising and Target.

City Council committee continues to review the Comprehensive Plan, next meeting September 19
The City Council’s Land Use and Special Studies Committee has held three meetings to review, ask questions and recommend revisions to the proposed Comprehensive Plan. An additional committee meeting is scheduled in September before the proposed plan returns to the full City Council.
