Carmel Marathon takes place Saturday!
Organizers for the 2022 Carmel Marathon Weekend are planning for more than 3,500 participants on Saturday, April 9, the largest field in its 12-year history.
The race course begins and finishes at Carmel’s Palladium at the Center for Performing Arts (at 3rd Avenue and City Center Drive) with the course reaching east-to-west from Hazel Dell Parkway to Illinois Street. Motorists looking to avoid the marathon course are recommended to use 116th and 146th Streets for east/west routes, and Keystone Avenue and US-31 for north/south routes. All events begin at 8 a.m., with a maximum course time of 6.5 hours. The course and finish line will officially close at 2:30 p.m. All lanes of all roads will open throughout the morning immediately following the last race participant.

New Parking Ordinance
In December 2021, Carmel City Council adopted an ordinance prohibiting parking or stopping on streets near Carmel Clay School property between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on school days, where signs have been installed.

- Part Time and Seasonal Laborers are paid $17 per hour.

Comprehensive Plan heads to City Council for additional review
The Carmel Plan Commission voted unanimously to send the proposed Comprehensive Plan to the City Council, signaling the plan’s next phase of review. The proposed comprehensive plan could appear on the City Council’s meeting agenda as soon as Monday, April 18, with additional opportunity for comments from the public. It is anticipated that the proposed plan will be assigned to a City Council Committee for additional review.

Carmel Utilities continues replacing aging water meters across the community with new, enhanced equipment allowing for more accurate readings and better water efficiency.
In the next few weeks, our Carmel Utilities & Envocore - RTS Water Solutions install teams are scheduled to be in the following neighborhoods:
Brighton Woods Lakes at Hazel Dell Townhomes at Hazel Dell Buckhorn West 136th Street Woods at Williams Creek
Please note Envocore – RTS Water Solutions/Carmel Utilities will be driving white trucks and vans with the following placard on their vehicles:

Republic Services Landscape Waste Pick-up - April & May
It's that time of year again! During the months of April and May, each Carmel Utilities/Republic Services household is allowed 20 extra bags or bundles per week of landscape waste, free of charge. Please place as much yard waste as possible into the trash cart, while allowing the trash cart lid to close. Large branches must be cut into shorter sections (no larger than four feet) and tied into bundles. Click here for more details.

Community Shred-It & Recycling Electronics Day, April 23
Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana is hosting one of the largest document shredding/recycling/drug take back events in Central Indiana. Come get your personal documents shredded! Recycle your personal devices and computers with the safest company in town, Technology Recyclers.

Historic Preservation Committee - Thursday, April 14, 6 p.m.
