Carmel Winter Games take over the Ice at Carter Green
CARMEL, IN – It is time, once again, to bundle up and head to Carter Green for some ice-cold competition and fun at the Carmel Winter Games on the City’s ice rink, presented by Allied Solutions. Whether you are signed up to compete or are a spectator, you won’t want to miss two days of non-skating competition Friday and Saturday, February 11-12 at the Ice at Carter Green.
What kind of competition? Picture big kids playing kid games on the ice, including “human curling,” an ice trike relay and “human hungry hippo” complete with inner tubes, laundry baskets and hundreds of balls!
The annual event kicks off this evening at 6 p.m. with the Hometown Hero-Olympics featuring good-spirited competition between the Carmel Fire Department and Carmel Police Department. On Saturday, the skate-less competition on ice continues with the Carmel Winter Games Challenge, featuring the same trio of big games, but with competition featuring corporate teams and groups of family and friends who have signed up to compete.
In addition to Saturday’s action on the ice, the Ice at Carter Green will also feature a Live DJ and a Meet the Mascots session on the ice.
Visitors and competitors can also check out two of our local vendors – Rose & Lois selling coffee and hot drinks and Bier Brewery North selling their exclusive line of craft beers. If it gets a little chilly, don’t forget the City of Carmel has provided several heated and furnished “igloos” that are perfect to escape the cold. There is no charge and it is a first-come, first-served amenity.
