World Habitat Volunteers needed
Calling all volunteers! Join Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation for a tree planting in celebration of World Habitat Day on October 4 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Together we’ll plant trees in the Vera Hinshaw Preserve, a 10-acre woodland adjacent to the Monon Greenway (just north of the 96th Street Trailhead).
The purpose of World Habitat Day is to reflect on the basic rights of all to adequate shelter. It is intended to remind the world that we all have the power and responsibility to shape the future of our cities and towns. Habitat for plants and animals is a very important aspect of our ecosystem. Removing non-native plants and replacing them with native species is a way to provide essential food and shelter for the wildlife that call our parks home! Click here to register.
