Mural honoring Indiana Black heroes and heroines unveiled
Thanks to all who came out last Friday to the Carmel Arts & Design District to celebrate the official unveiling of this beautiful mural by the artist and educator Israel Solomon. The mural honors Indiana Black heroes and was an original idea from Lily McAndrews and her team at Be The Change Indy that came to fruition with the help of many community partners. Rain on Main in the Arts & Design district
|
|
Rain on Main is an annual event held to increase awareness of water quality and efficiency. Local artists transform 65-gallon, urn-style rain barrels into one of a kind pieces of art and then auction them off to raise funds for water education signage in Carmel Clay Parks.
SEE...the Rain on Main barrels displayed along Main Street August 13-20. Barrel designs will also be judged opening weekend by an independent panel and the first, second and third place artists receive cash prizes!
VOTE...for your favorite in the People’s Choice contest by liking your top barrel on the Rain on Main Facebook page by August 20 at noon.
JOIN...us at the Carmel Farmers Market on August 21 to see all of the barrels and place your final bids.
BUY... or bid on your favorite rain barrel in the online silent auction from noon on August 13 until 11 a.m. on August 21.

Movies at Midtown
Head to Midtown Plaza for Allied Solutions' Movies at Midtown! Movies will run on Mondays from May through October.
Movie showing times are noon, 3 and 7 p.m.
August 16 - An Extremely Goofy Movie
Hand sanitizer stations are still available throughout Midtown Plaza. Please don't forget to clean up your surroundings once you've enjoyed the movie.
