City of Carmel Police Department to participate in 30x30 initiative |
|
A growing list of agencies across the United States and Canada are signing the 30x30 Pledge. On July 26, the Carmel Police Department announced that Chief Jim Barlow signed a Letter of Intent for participation in this initiative to increase the representation of women in police recruiting classes to 30 percent by the year 2030.
“Our Police Department has worked hard over the years to diversify its staff and create a police force that better reflects the makeup of our community. I applaud this 30x30 effort to recruit more female officers to our staff," says Mayor Jim Brainard.

Watch the Olympics at Midtown Plaza
Olympic coverage continues at Midtown Plaza as the City of Carmel shows daily coverage of the Olympics on NBC throughout the duration of the Games. Weather and special events might preclude some of the coverage, but the plan is to show NBC's prime time coverage every evening with sound on the BIG SCREEN at Midtown, along with select daytime coverage.
We encourage friends and families to come to the Plaza and enjoy the atmosphere while grabbing food and drinks from nearby restaurants at Midtown and the Carmel Arts & Design District.
Make sure you are following the Midtown Plaza Facebook page for updates throughout the Olympics.
