News from Indianapolis, Hamilton County, and Madison County, Indiana
The mayors of Anderson, Carmel, Fishers Indianapolis, Noblesville, and Westfield and commissioners of Hamilton and Madison County announced today a regional collaboration to apply for Governor Eric Holcomb’s Indiana Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative (READI) planning grant and funding.
Uniting under a shared vision, the cities of Anderson, Carmel, Fishers, Indianapolis, Noblesville, and Westfield, and Hamilton and Madison Counties have begun identifying key programs, initiatives, and projects that will accelerate local, neighborhood economies, quality of place experiences, innovation, and develop, attract, and retain talent.

Carmel Police Department officially welcomed five new police officers. The officers are pictured above at a swearing-in ceremony at the Carmel Police Department Headquarters.
Left to right: Andrew Longyear, Patrick Murphy, Chief Jim Barlow, Ana Vazquez, Pablo Navarrete and Zachary Sherron. All officers have previous police experience and will start in-house training immediately. Welcome to Carmel; we are happy you are here!

Save the date for a great cause!
The Carmel Mayor’s Youth Council and Carmel Clay Public Library are proud to present Paws & Pages, an afternoon of fun for the whole family, canine companions included.
Guests can sign up for the library’s Summer Reading Program, meet the Fire Department’s Kasey Program pups, make their own DIY dog toy, or learn how Medical Mutts train their therapy dogs. Snacks and drinks can be purchased from Kona Ice or a concessions stand run by the Mayor’s Youth Council, where all profits benefit the Hamilton County Humane Society. With plenty of activities and vendors, there’s something for everyone at Paws & Pages!

You will learn about solar basics for your home or small business and how solar protects against rising electricity bills. You will also learn about metering, the tax credit and how the co-op makes it easy to go solar with technical support and group pricing

Get to know Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation
Carmel Clay Parks & Recreation has always had a focus on sustainability. The department manages over 575+ acres of land, and understands that purposefully protecting land to offer a home to pollinators, birds and all critters is crucial to our community.
CCPR's online magazine Park Conversations, recently featured a story titled “Creating Balance: In our parks, our backyards and around the world,” that illustrates our connection, as a park system and as individual community members, to the natural world. It shares examples of what CCPR offers in the realm of education and volunteer opportunities, and what folks can do at home. Small actions lead to big results!

If you missed Bike Carmel's Family Fun Ride this month, be sure to mark your calendars for July 6.
Join us for a family fun ride (2 - 5 miles on paths and trails) and a bike rodeo for the kids! We'll have fun and games before and after each ride.
It's free to sign up and every registered participant will receive a swag bag and t-shirt!
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the ride begins at 9:30 a.m.

CarmelFest to honor healthcare heroes
Cox Roofing to provide rides in the parade grand marshal unit
The 2021 Centier Bank CarmelFest Parade committee would like to honor our community's Healthcare Heroes by inviting them to participate in the parade's grand marshal unit. Honorees will include frontline healthcare workers, first responders and senior living caregivers working in the professions shown in the graphic below. The committee has chosen this special group of people for this tribute because of the ways in which they navigated the COVID-19 crisis.

Head to Midtown Plaza for Allied Solutions' Movies at Midtown! Movies will run on Mondays from May through October with showings at noon, 2:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
