The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) continues to seek ways we can alleviate the impact of this public health crisis on our arts and culture ecosystem through our grantmaking and its processes. As we continue to evaluate and adjust, we will communicate these updates to our grantees.
Today, the IAC announces it will streamline its Arts Organization Support I (AOS I) grants for the upcoming fiscal year and create more bandwidth for grantees, panelists, and staff in the following way:
AOS I grantees who were approved through the panel process in fiscal year 2020 will be pre-approved for fiscal year 2021. Funding amounts will be determined after the paneling process is completed and the IAC’s fiscal year 2021 budget is finalized.
This decision was made to relieve stress that arts organizations are experiencing during this time. It is based on the high acceptance rate of AOS grantees, especially for those that have applied in the past. Applicants who did not receive an AOS I grant in fiscal year 2020 will still have their applications reviewed by a panel of their peers to be considered for funding.
