City of St. Charles Announces Community Clean Up Dates
June 6 for East Side & June 13 for West Side
ST. CHARLES, Ill. (Feb. 12, 2026) – The City of St. Charles Community Clean Up program is back for 2026. Community Clean Up allows residents to place unwanted items at the curb for pick up. Collection dates are June 6, 2026, for residents on the east side of the river and June 13, 2026, for the west side. This service is for residents within St. Charles city limits only.
Lakeshore Recycling will pick up items placed on the curb (not in the street) before 7 a.m. Once collection crews have passed through an area they will not come back. Also, please do not place items out more than 48 hours before the collection.
If you would like to keep containers used to hold items, mark them “Do not throw can away.” They cannot be retrieved once collected. Rugs and carpet should be rolled, taped/tied and cut into segments.
These Items not Allowed and will not be Picked Up:

Any Items weighing more than 50 lbs.

Any Items larger than 5 feet in length

Household hazardous waste (paints, solvents, auto fluids, pesticides, etc.)

Devices containing mercury (thermostats, thermometers, etc.)

Liquids and gases (no propane tanks, fire extinguishers)

Contractor construction debris (doors, windows, large amounts of lumber, masonry products, drywall, siding, roofing)

Yard waste (grass, leaves, brush, garden waste, rocks)
-
Household refuse normally collected each week
