Village of Plainfield E-News Updates - 7/31/26

Come meet Plainfield Police officers, check out police vehicles and equipment, connect with local organizations, and enjoy an evening full of fun on August 4 at National Night Out! The event begins at 4 p.m. with a sensory hour and runs until 8:30 p.m. Bring the family, say hello, and help us celebrate what makes Plainfield such a great community. Crews are finishing the new asphalt pavement on Fort Beggs Drive and James Street and pavement markings will be installed the week of August 3rd. Asphalt milling and paving work are scheduled for next week on Penn Road and Coil Plus Drive. Concrete removals are also scheduled to begin in Heron View Estates the week of August 3rd. On Wednesday, August 5, the new traffic signal near Costco is tentatively scheduled to be turned on. In addition to energizing the traffic signal, new pavement markings will be installed at the same time. Flashing red signals, flaggers, and irregular traffic patterns can be expected during the signal turn on, please use extreme caution when driving through the work zone. 

The Plainfield Police Department DARE Officers are excited to invite the DARE graduates to the annual DARE Pool Party on August 6! This FREE event is open to all District 202 DARE graduates entering 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. Enjoy pizza, snacks, music with a DJ, and swimming with friends. Certified lifeguards will be on duty throughout the event. Registration is required to attend. Please use this link to register. 

Join the Plainfield Police Department for the annual Armored Truck Challenge on Saturday, August 15, in support of Special Olympics of Illinois. The cost is $150 per team of 5. Prizes will be awarded to the team that can pull the Armored Truck 75 feet the fastest as well as a Team Spirit Award and Highest Funds Raised online for your team. Registration information.
